High demand for auction properties in Liverpool

Liverpool-based auctioneer Venmore achieved one of its best results for five years in July's auction, held at Liverpool Town Hall, where the company raised £1.9m. The auction produced a 72% success rate after 36 of the 50 lots on offer were sold.

“We have seen strong demand, particularly in the residential sector, with savvy investors bidding on the more reasonable priced mid terraced houses,” said Geoff Guest of Venmore.

Lot 10: A three-bedroom, two-reception, terrace house on Brookdale Road, Liverpool, Merseyside, L15, represented the most expensive property sold on the day, after going under the hammer for £115,000.

Lot 17: A pre-let two-bedroom terrace house on Molyneux Road, Kensington, Liverpool, Merseyside, L6, producing £3,640 per year in rent, was sold for £30,000, yielding a gross rental return of 12.1%.

Lot 21: A terrace building on Seaforth Road, Liverpool, L21, with three floors arranged as a ground floor retail unit with upper part residential accommodation was sold for £15,000. The unmodernised property offers development potential, subject to necessary planning consent.

Guest added: “We hope that this type of booming property activity will continue for our next auction in September [to be held on 13 September].”
